PA Week 2... More things to do now. And it's just the same old thing which we've been doing for the past few days, just that the earlier ones weren't somehow right. wtf. Actually, I sorta felt that if we really finished this on time, our supervisor had to find other jobs for us to do... So maybe that's why we're doing this all over again...

PA Interviews: Went for 3 thus far. I think I screwed them up! Haa... Some stupid things that I said la. Now to think of it, I am quite stunned I actually said those. Well, one cannot be at a loss of words for too long rite, so i tried to say something and ended saying something stupid rather unprofessionately... Shit! The interviewers were still able to maintain their smiles constantly though, wonder what's going on in their minds ("Huh?????? What he said??")...

Never place the top pirioty companies on the 1st day... Now, 没人要我了。。。

First Week of PA is over!

Can't really answer the question "Hows PA?". I have only worked for a week, and in this week, my exact jobscope hasn't begun as yet. Overall, it's still "ok lor"... Learnt a bit of things here and there.

Went back to school for fyp meeting today. On the bus there, I sorta realised that I didn't bring my hall keys along. Not gonna get off the bus to get my keys... So i decided to see how when I reach hall later. And when I finally reached back hall after fyp, my neighbour wasn't in. So I had to climb out from the opening near the toilet and climbed on the roof tiles for a while (like Spiderman) before I reach my room window, which fortunately was only a very short distance!

Now the 2nd problem. I locked my window latch from the inside of my room. And there's this thin piece of wire gauze over the window that prevented me from opening the latch from the outside. I had no scissors or wire cutter with me, so i tried poking the wire gauze. And it's amazingly thin (coz it's basic purpose is just to prevent flying insects from getting into the room). So with a bit of strength, I managed to tear the wire gauze by a bit just enough for me to push the latch to open it.

And tada! I got into my room! And I thought the process of climing into my room from outside was quite fun after all!

PA Day 4: Does my boss read my blog? Well I got more work now! But I am not really complaining... Seems pretty useful. What we are doing will be used by our supervisor for decision-making for higher management, as what we have learnt. So now phoebe n I have to discern how to sort the data for the information to be useful. And yeah, we learnt how to use Pivot Table in Excel! Actually we should have learnt before, but today, Ir eally learnt how to use it. It's not too hard either, or maybe I am still basically using the more basic features of Pivot Table.

And... YESSS!!
Stefanie Sun Live in Singapore 2006!!

Her concert will be on 14th Jan 2006!
Tickets... hmmm... I dun think I can afford $198 one. As a local student, I will be entitled to 15% off $128, $98 and $68... and these 3 categories, I believe will be snapped up quite fast.
Need to look for people to go with... Anyone here interested?

PA Day 3:

Nothing much! Haa really! Oh we planned the schedule for our branch visits. One week approximately 2 - 3 on site visits, with 2 saturdays in Dec too.

Settled all my interview dates finally! I think EY finds me most troublesome... Want to change but kept not answering their phone calls. No idea why, but I keep getting missed calls from them. But it's finally settled. =)

Something good about being at home is that, I can watch SCV shows! The 8pm show now is simple, yet touching. 9pm show is funny~! I have forsaken watching Star Idol n SUperhost because of SCV... haa... Suddenly, ch 8 n ch U seems like crap again...

PA Day 2! The fun hasn't started yet, but I finally got my intranet user ID n password, as well as my access card. Sorta completed an assigned task, now awaiting for his comments.

Confirmed 1 more interview next week. Maybe I shouldn't really be sooo kiasu and applied for all 4, when I can, and only can, choose one eventually. Sorta thinking that i might be depriving others of a chance, as I heard a few didn't get any interviews at all... In addition, it's really tough to arrange the dates. I had all scheduled on the same day initially! Called KP to change despite confirming a slot earlier. KP's receptionist is very friendly though, abit like my insurance agent... As for EY, I had called to change too, but that was before I received KP's call. Hoping that EY won't give me the slot as arranged by KP, or else I dunno how to explain to them liao...

As for the arrangements by my PA firm for our PA, i guess it's still pending. But the way one of the supervisors sound is that we have to return to office whenever we have free time. Nooooooooo... If my interview starts at 3+, it will end at bout 5 or so, and I would be expected to return to office?? Sux...

PA Day 1

Monday, November 21

Today marks the first day of PA. *yawnz* I struggled to wake up in the morning... My mind is just screaming "THE EXAMS HAS JUST ENDED!!! WHY CANNOT SLEEEEEP (it's raining somemore!! How more perfect a day for sleeping under the blanket??)??" Of course in the end I still had to wake up and heng, I wasn't late. In fact, I was early!

Admin stuff and I learnt about my jobscope. The worst thing is having to work on some saturdays. Honestly, even on normal days, the working hours seem long... 9 - 6.30! Heng I have nice comrades in the same working department as me (4 on same level, 2 each in 2 different areas), and supervisor(s) seems quite nice too. For today, me and YH did something useful but still, still quite a slack 1st day... We will definitely get more busy in the next few weeks as we need to travel out of office quite often.

Sleepy monday blues, looking forward to fridays (arrgh! supervisor said for our dept, fri also must wear formal), looking forward to lunch hours, looking forward to end of work day, tea-time gossips... I need some time to adjust...

Grrrrr they have not issued me a pass yet. So I still have to exchange my IC for a visitor's pass tomorrow. Go toilet also must use pass, inconvenient. Worse when my fellow comrade HM's pass did not work! We went to the toilet, came out, and realised we can't get back in. As for internet, we are not allowed access! There's only intranet... Sigh...

The Big 4 selection interviews are out! Got all 4 interviews, and 2 actually called me today! Confirmed 2 interviews for next monday. And when I got home, realised another one is to be held on mon as well! Hei hei, maybe I should have 3 interviews on monday... Dun have to memorize interview 'answers' for too long... Haa... *siao*. Shall see how.

end of exams

Sunday, November 20

Me: Yay! My exams r over!
Eng + NUS: Win liao! Not fair!
Me: But I starting PA on monday liao...

Sigh.

Anyway, after my exams ended on Fri, went out with the gang to lunch @ Yuki Yaki n then watch Harry Potter! We ate for 2.5 hrs or so, feasting on much meat abit like hungry carnivores. A certainly well-deserving buffet for us. As for Harry Potter, nice ah. I guess book-lovers wouldn't like the movie as much but I never read the book, thus the movie is nice IMO. Beautful graphics and effects! Headed off to Killiney Coffee before we headed back home/hall.

Then went out on Sat for a Sakae Sushi meal with EJ... Yummy! Next year, I must eat their buffet before I grad, student's buffet is so much cheaper! Shopped around n watched a bit of the much-hyped WCG @ suntec... Exciting! Certainly professional CS players, whom movements are swift and their aiming deadly. Although the CS 'movie' was a thrill, I would have preferred to watch the Warcraft players...

End of weekend... yeah I was trying as hard as I could to sound super enthu n high. I did have fun over the past few days with my friends but apparently, posting backdated entries kills the mood. Also, it's PA is less than 12 hours... Exams seem more fun suddenly. How contradictory.

I shall post up the photos after PA tomorrow, hopefully...

完了啦... Like salted fish hanging on the pole there, that's what I/we are. More essentially, it's the 206 killer paper. *Dun say dun say le* Arrrgh~

But I am not really mourning now, the time for mouring has not arrived yet. Wait til the 3rd of December ba... It's the time to rejoice... soon! Badly wanting to watch Harry Potter, or the Exorcism of Emily Rose. I realise that I am not a frequent movie-watcher, in fact, there are several months when I could go by without watching movies. Hmmmm.

That missy Guo Mei Mei is back! This time instead of "我爱你,爱着你,就像老鼠爱大米”,it's “看到蟑螂我不怕不怕啦”... It's on 933 everyday, even on TV can see her mtv, with a cockroach dancing beside her cartoon character. Not that I have anything against her, but seriously I dun think she can make it big. What's the marketing strategy behind this? I dun think teenage girls or boys or go ga-ga over her (or will they?). If she's a chio bu then she should show her face and become a SG version 杨丞琳. But I guess she isn't after all (as in the case of uncle ou de yang...).

And somemore, they choose to market Guo Mei Mei with this 主打。No wonder they call her 新加坡勇敢女生, haa coz she dare to take the risk. Hmmmm. Anyway the song on my blog is a Sg newcomer who sounds having much more potential than GMM. It's from the soundtrack of "真命天女". And this is also played on 933 very frequently now too. Just that this song is much less irritating.

Downloaded podcasts for the first time in my life last fri from a few sites, such as http://www.mrbrown.com and http://www.donanddrew.com. Very funny! Podcasts are simply recordings made by people on things they like to talk about, like their lives, current affairs or simply some funny things etc. STI has its own podcasts too at http://podcast.straitstimes.com. Now other than hearing songs on trains, podcasts keep me entertained too!

It's gonna be X'mas and New Year (n CNY too)! X'mas bells... and I long to see the decorations once again!

In Hall studying... plus watching TV!

Ou Xuan's acting is still as bad on the lousy 9pm show. Her acting (Even Rui En acts better than her), the way she speaks (Joanne Peh's voice may not sound as sweet, but at least she speaks better) and plus she isn't pretty (Fiona Xie wins her), considering all these factors, why does MCS still want to make her the next big thing?? She's just so... jingjing... cmi.

Stef Sun broke up with her bf. No it's not to fry news. It's true. Earlier there were suspicions from the reactions of yanzi on Jacky's and Cai Kang Yong's variety shows. And she has confirmed it too... so there. =(
(But still, i thought there wasn't such a great need to broadcast it on national news?! So gossipy ah?? This is not taiwan news lor.)

Star Idol is super funny! Some contestants are still as bhb... But the finalists are all cuter, more chio and more yandao than those in the Super Host. Eye-candies! ;p

Boring day in Hall...

Some things I hope to get started on...

Play World of Warcraft

The expansion will be out soon, and I'm not even started on it!! And my friends are already levels 50+ or so...

Warcraft has always left a deep impression in my hearts. Played war 2 in upper sec, and then war 3 in NS. Gaming really helps to bond people together, especially when u fight together and think of strategies together. And discuss n laugh more about stupid moves after gaming. A bit regretting that I abandoned it in NTU, when dota became the next big thing. Perhaps playing dota could have helped me to be more strategic in my thinking.
Barrier: Money... I can't just imagine forking out, how much? About $30 per month if i remembered correctly. Dun care, no matter how busy auditing will be in the future, I will still somehow find some time to play WOW... A must!!

Travel around the world

I still remembered I happily went to update my passport last holidays, thinking maybe I could be going overseas. But well, I didn't go overseas.

I used to think of being an air steward when I was young! Coz I enjoyed going to the airport, its so spacious and air-con. Everyone I meet in the airport and on the planes will be strangers, and there's the feeling of something new everyday. And of course, flying around~! Now I have basically abandoned this thought liao, haha. Oh... My platoon sgt is an air steward with SIA and he's sure enjoying!
Barrier (to travelling): Money... To get dirt-cheap budget airlines tickets, one must book real early. The savings from such can be utilised to buy more stuff from overseas. My next overseas trip has to be my graduation trip ba... So long...

I just want to travel all around the world, not just to shop or laze around, but to really 'see' the world. And perhaps get some insiprations on life... haa.

Learn music

Learning keyboard, to be exact. Anyone knows of good 2nd hand keyboards anywhere for sale?

1 week more to 205, 206 n my 246. Well honestly, its hard to study for 205 n considering my report got B- plus presentation n seminar handups don't seem too much of even a B+, a 40% exam won't seem to help much. As for 206, its tough to put scott n phb n FRSes together since they are talking about different things n i see no link. And it's so boring boring boring such that 205 is a bit more captivating. And for my 246, it's better to study than my core... it's really not as boring as other biz law modules (or my core), it's interesting but lotsa n lotsa readings n applications.
The only bad thing is my exam dates are consecutively 16 (noon), 17 (morn) n 18 (morn). Kinda brain cells killing!

Happy Deepavali n Selemat Hari Raya!

I'm sure every NTU student has this sucky feeling... Everyone is enjoying this week with 2 public holidays, and yet we have to pretend there're no holidays. And i guess that the fact it is a public holiday after all makes my revision rather unproductive... What a waste.

Bought a can of snake powder and it didnt seem to have any effects and I thought it had expired. And so i tested it in a rather wrong place and yeah, the snake powder has not expired yet... Feeling very 'cool' now...

And the 933 挑战9连环 prize money has shot up to $3400+!!! Wooo! And the max is still only 5 songs correct! YES933 shall be my radio companion for this exams, i want the $$$!

You scored 70% Organization, 55% abstract, and 50% extroverted!

This test measured 3 variables.

First, this test measured how organized you are. Some muppets like Cookie Monster make big messes, while others like Bert are quite anal about things being clean.

Second, this test measured if you prefer a concrete or an abstract viewpoint. For the purposes of this test, concrete people are considered to gravitate more to mathematical and logical approaches, whereas abstract people are more the dreamers and artistic type.

Third, this test measured if you are more of an introvert or an extrovert. By definition, an introvert concentrates more on herself and an extrovert focuses more on others. In this test an introvert was somebody that either tends to spend more time alone or thinks more about herself.

You are very organized, both concrete and abstract, and both introverted and extroverted.

Here is why are you Bert.

You are both very organized. You almost always know where your belongings are and you prefer things neat. You may even enjoy cleaning and find it therapeutic. Bert is a big neat freak and gets quite annoyed when Ernie makes a big mess.

You both are sometimes concrete and sometimes abstract thinkers. Bert is probably a bit more concrete in his bottlecap collecting addiction and his love of the weather. He does show his abstract side when he sings and performs his "Doin' The Pidgeon" song. You have a good balance in your life. You know when to be logical at times, but you also aren't afraid to explore your dreams and desires... within limits of course.

You are both somewhat introverted. Bert is probably more introverted, because he spends most of his time either with Ernie or alone. Still he has no problem being around other people in his role as chairman of "The National Association of 'W' Lovers." Like Bert, you probably like to have some time to yourself, but you do appreciate spending time with your friends, and you aren't scared of social situations.

The other possible characters are
Oscar the Grouch
Big Bird
Snuffleupagus
Ernie
Elmo
Kermit the Frog
Grover
Cookie Monster
Guy Smiley
The Count

If you enjoyed this test, I would love the feedback! Also if you want to tell me your favorite Sesame Street character, I can total them up and post them here. Perhaps your choice will win!
