Not much activity these few days. Have been doing some exercises to prepare myself for ICT and IPPT, as well as leveling up on Maple these few days...

Project Superstar again tonight! Haa... M3 Weijian is undeniably a cute young boy (omg his expressions!). And his singing is great too! He's definitely remarkable to be able to stand out from the rest... Coz this week, the 3 long hair guys are in this episode, giving the impression that tonight's performers would be more mature. M3 n M4 are the youngest and there is certainly some pressure for them to be with the more mature-looking. It's either a total win (M3) or total loss (M4).

However the judges gave highest marks to M5 William whom I dun really like. I read on some forums about his character, which do not give me a good impression of him... He's quite a bully la. Moreover, i dun really think he sang that well! O_o Weisong even gave him a 8. What's with the outpouring of geneorisity from the judges tonight??
Weijian is definitely the best tonight IMO.

For male, my favourite 3 are:
- Jason Tan (Last wk M6)
- Wei Jian
- Wei Lian

And for female, hmmm...
- Jia Xin (even tho she is out...)
- Dunno who else! Coz haven't show yet. And I wun be able to watch tomorrow night's performances of the gals. And I can't watch the replay either...
Seriously, no chio ones! Or maybe I didnt notice, or they havent appear yet...

Our TVs are invaded by the NKF ads again!! Arrgh!!

This is only the beginning... As the days of the performances approach, it'll be worse! Seeing the ads every 15 mins, "Call now and win!" "Instant win begins now! Call 1900-112-6868!" = Obnoxious! Such an aggressive campeign will only disguise people more because honestly, the people who will call now are those who want to win.

At least i have SCV, and SCV is not under mediacrap...

At one point, I began to make new friends from people I dunno, whom seem to appear all at once.
At another point, suddenly all of them vanish. And I am back to the world I know.

Maybe it's the work of the stars... Sometimes it's a week good for socialisingn making new friends, another week it's good for working, and another week good for buying 4D.

I should start reading horoscopes again... and Tarot perhaps...

Watched the results of Project Superstar just now... Sigh... Jiaxin didn't get in. I guess this is what happens when one is not a singaporean, and family ties are lacking. With family ties, from aunties n uncles to nephews n nieces and whoever that can be related, votes will be increased tremendously...

Jia Xin, u'll always be our Superstar from NTU/NBS!!! (other than yanzi, that is... hee)

And yeah, i find the jackpot for the results is totally unnecessary... It's like a 20-sec suspense waiting for the loser to emerge... I guess this is one jackpot which none of the contestants want to win!

Hall seniors camp is today! Woah and guess what, i wasn't reminded of it at all!

Project Superstar - Male Rounds (1)

Wednesday, June 22

Project Superstar... Let's support Jia Xin from NBS! Yeah my fellow NBSians would have received the email from NBS. She's my senior friend, and he went to Mediacorp to support her. And she got 2nd highest from the judges too, so she's real terrific. So if u are one who just feel like joining in the fun and supporting someone, let's support Jia Xin~!!

Tonight's episode of PS was great too... My thoughts:

M1 Sugianto. Can see that he sings and enjoys the stage experience at the same time. Tries to act like a pro on stage.
But I dun really like how he slangs the songs... And anyway, he's not cute.

M2. Oops I forgot! But he got 2nd highest... So he should be not bad too... haa...

M3 Jun Yang. Got the highest score amongst the judges! He sang JJ's Jiang Nan, and the judges commented he should not sing JJ's songs coz he sounds too much like JJ. But I guess they still like his voice n appearance a lot.

M4 Darryl. The lowest score... Wore a sleeveless, maybe trying to seduce Peifen (n perhaps the other male judges who r gay)? Haa but anyway Peifen did give the highest as compared to the rest of the judges, so maybe he did succeeda little... His case proves that looks ain't everything, but are still something.

M5 Wei Lian. Yeah the blind man. (Wei Lian DID say in an interview that it's ok to use the word "blind", he's ok with it, esp when everyone is trying to make it sound better by using the longer but similar meaning "visually handicapped") Although he sang the same "I Believe" as in the prelim stage, the feelings he exuded aren't so strong now. Pressure? Nervousness? Should be, as he managed to get only 28 points, 4th highest.

M6 Jason Tan. I think he is quite cute... His voice not bad osso mah, and he sang Ai Ru Chao Shui in a different style (deeper) as compared to Jeff. Alas, Li Fei Hui, author of the song, doesnt like it as much. It also seemed quite fast-paced toward the end. Thus he can only secure a 3rd highest score.

The females' turns tomorrow... And the results too! Who will be out?

Subject Registration Day

Happy Birthday to my dear army buddy, Siwei!

Well, I thought this was the only event marked on my calender. Well, it's just June 21, seems like a normal Tuesday.

Until.. 2.25pm, phone call from ZH. (Something like that below ah... dun remb)

ZH: Hello? Donny ah?
Don: Huh?
Don: Huh? Register?
ZH: Register subjects!
Don: HUH?? 是今天 register subjects meh??
ZH: Ah Nah! ( i can imagine a *condemned* expression)
Smint: (in the background loudly) Wah lao eh! Condemned!
( Now i can imagine everyone's *condemned* expressions in the library)
Don: Eh, i think
ZH: Oh ok lor...
Don: Ok... Aye 等一下!Codes 是什么?

Ok la... I admit that I thought subject registration is Thursday.
So i quickly turned on my PC, and logged into STARS asap... My PC time by then is about 2.28pm...
Luckily i was able to find STARS planner quickly n key in the subject codes.
Got the timetable out. However, when would be the system's 2.30pm? I dunno. By then, my PC showed 2.30pm already. I thought, WTH, just register la! *Click*

The next second, I was brought to the next screen... All registered! Woah! I was shocked n amazed for 2 reasons:
1. It's my first time that registration is so successful with STARS planner.
2. Furthermore I am at home. (Oh I am using Starhub Broadband 2Mbps plan, if u r interested).

Unfortunately, ZH n smint did not get the same time slots as us for some subjects. But despair not, as there might be people who want to swap. Can try the NBS e-swap website.

Our final year liaoz... It will be great if we could be classmates again for our final year. *prayz*

econ n specs

Sunday, June 19

Events of the day:

And...

1. Econ variety, aka "赢万金游万里欢乐周末夜", came to my neighbourhood Econ minimart! News was that they would come at 2.30pm, so people start crowding at 2pm. And the crew did come quite punctually in a mini van. And I saw Chen Shu Cheng, Huang Hui, Cai Li Lian and Chen Li Ping. Well none of them aren't exactly my favourite, so I just snapped a few shots using my HP. My mum also commented that Liping looked pretty in real person, despite her looking fat on TV. Yepz, I agree, coz she only had very plain makeup on and simple clothes, yet she still got that star look.

Sad thing is that Liping didnt pick my mum or my name... Yeah there's my name on quite a few coupons coz my mum told me to fill in. But, no luck means no luck...

TV crew doesnt seem to be fiming my area much... Well if i can't get $50, at least let me appear on TV lor!

2. My new specs, which i got it at my neighbourhood's optical shop. Cool and funky! Intially the shop asst showed me many designs to try and try, but I couldn't decide. She gave me her feedback when I tried on each specs too. Then when I saw these specs, I didn't really like this colour much and preferred another colour. Until she got another customer to review for me who said this colour looks better, and until the customer tried on the specs and I was like *woah*. Coz the specs honestly, isn't very impressive on its own and the colour seems quite tacky. But when someone suitable (like mi!) wears it, the specs is a statement itself!

Kudos for the shop asst for her excellent service and patience!

And kudos for showing me this pair of specs!

Haiyoh I did something stupid today...

I woke up at 8 plus, wanting to go SRC pool and swim/tan... It's my first Sat going to SRC to swim, so I thought that the opening hours are somehow similar to weekdays. To my dismay, when I reached the pool, No!!! A super big "CLOSED" sign hanged there... As I walked closer, a notice said "Sat: Opening hours - 11am to Xpm". (Doesn't matter what time it closes to me... I won't stay until so late". Arrrgh!!!

So I went back Hall, watched TV -> Xiao Ding Dang on Ch 8 Sat mornings now! Haha...

And yeah, went back pool @ 11am to swim n suntan... There were people having scuba diving lessons in the pool, hmmm... Seems fun! Haa...

Gruesome murder in Singapore... Yeah I am referring to those body parts found in Kallang River. Can u imagaine if u r the one who saw those body parts?? Hmmm....

And latest news is that a man has been arrested in connection with the murder.

QUOTE
SINGAPORE : A Singaporean man of about 50 years old has been arrested in connection with a gruesome murder find at Kallang Riverside Park.

The dismembered body is believed to be that of a 22-year-old Chinese national, Liu Hong Mei, who worked in Singapore as a production operator.

Police say investigations showed that the suspect was the victim's supervisor.

Some green translucent plastic bags were also seized from the suspect's flat at Geylang.

The suspect will be charged in court on Saturday for murder.

The search for the further remains of the body continues.

A cleaner found the lower half of a body in a brown cardboard box at Kallang River on Thursday morning.

It had been severed at the pelvis and knee joints.

Police later found the headless upper half of the body in a red and white box on the opposite bank.

Police are still searching for the missing body parts. – CNA /ct

Suddenly the police seem so efficient. I thought usually such cases will drag and drag coz the murderer would vanish... And while the police are carrying out their investigations, Wan Bao and Xin Ming will dig out many juicy gossips and news linking one thing to many things. And the media will hype up the case so much, everyone in town will be talking about it. From the koip-thiam auntie to the office-working professional, everyone has his/her point of view and speculation on what is right, what is wrong. And unrelated people will be going to courts to watch drama. But to be honest, Singaporeans are being bonded together in a way...

Then, of course, it's good that the murderer has been arrested so quickly... Hope justice will be given to the victim!

Ooooh NDP results are out!! And i didnt win anything again!! NDP Parade... sigh...

Personality test? Blogger test? Dunno...

Congratulations Don, you are...

'Xia Xue' Wendy Cheng of xiaxue.blogspot.com

You are a goddess/god. You've got the looks, the brains and the body. You have such an irreverent sense of humour, people listen to you religiously and worship the ground you walk on. On the other hand you can also be straightforward, blunt and very very controversial. That has the potential to offend many people, but of course you don't care, you just shoot. In the end, people either love you or hate you. Nothing in between.

Which Singaporean Blogger Are You?

Alright, this isn't much of a revamp. But I didn't want to change too much anyway.

Most of the graphics u see here are done by my new image editing software, Gimp. It has lotsa great features, making it more or less comparable to Photoshop. And it's free! But as I have said earlier, it will be a bit overwhelming for beginners.

Anyway, see the banner up there, saying "Don'z Blog"? Originally, I had created a bigger picture, in which I had collated several other photos. However, the more I previewed it, the more narcissistic it seemed to be portraying of me. And I guess it can be quite irritating if every time you visit my blog, you see my big big photo there... Thus, being a considerate person, I decided to just put up that banner...

And well, this was what I intended to put up there...

Being not very good in imaging processing, I am actually quite proud of myself of doing that (even though it may seem lousy or simple to others).... Haha...

Let's try bigger fonts for this post.

I downloaded a license-free image editing software, but it's too pro, i can't figure it out...
And I downloaded a free photo collage software too!

Yay... with these softwares, I shall put up more photos...

And i shall revamp my blog too. Also, I plan to change the style of my blog by using more photos than words. Hehehe...

Watched "鸡婆俱乐部" on Ch U just now... It's definitely much better n funnier than the old ZHou 5 Yu Le Wang. Well it's lame n some say low-class jokes, but I enjoyed the way they poked fun at certain celebrities and happenings. And it's not entirely a useless show either... Watch it if u need a laugh!

I am starting to watch more geographic channel, discovery channel n animal planet nowadays. I am starting to appreciate them when there is nothing interesting in the Chinese channels... There are definitely more thought-provoking and intelligence-enriching programmes there than the entertainment n variety shows on the Taiwan channels. Learning more about animals, Egytian history and myths vs facts... Interesting!

If it is yours, then it is yours... If it is not yours, no use if u take more action, it juz wun happen... yepz.

Made a new pair of specs today... finally. My old specs has truly depreciated over its service of 4 years, with all the black paint dropping out. My new specs cost me $260... $150 for my lenses! It's because I have high astigmatism, so my lenses are exp. And the frame is hmmm... quite contemporary? Haa... I was actually deciding if I should get a more conservative pair, one that I could safely wear to attachment. But then, I should be wearing my contacts more often ba... Furthermore, its the 21st century... The new generation of auditors n accountants shouldn't be so conservative!

One month left to slack before ICT... zzz...

Gee... Hall room results are out so soon... And to think that I answered "End June" to everyone who asked me when the results will be out... Well it's better to be prudent...

Settled a few more rooms last minute just now... And the results are out... Hope those last minute ones have no problem...

To my Hall 14 friends who have friends not getting into their desired room, please inform them that room allocation is strictly on a points basis. There's no “人情” involved, but i have tried my best.

Btw, Peifen's "Yin Yue Ri Ji" sucks terribly. Was it the one on mon or tues? She had so many mistakes n kept repeating, and she sounds so robotic, just reading off a script without any feelings whatsoever. And I don't like her style either. And she can't give good advice.

I'm better off listening to my mp3s til Lingzhi comes back.

Downloaded the canto version of “等了又等”. It was sang by Kit in Snow Wolf Lake, and the canto version is indeed nicer... It's really sad that Kit is not performing in SG SWL, and will be replaced by Chen Songling instead. Ok i dun think i would be going to watch because of the high tix px (cheapest tix is $98), but I just feel that SG audience will miss out a lot. And if I have the money, Kit will be one reason for me to watch too. And if Kit is performing, maybe I'll bear to part of a bit of what i have earned so far to watch SWL. I hardly watch musicals or plays, but when I do, it'll be a treat for me.

Anyway now that Kit's contract has ended, she can really enjoy her new life! And news say she may be getting married too... If so, hope she has a blissful marriage!

Some old news...

Wednesday, June 1

It's May 31! No, it's June 1 already!

This job at uob is really awfully boring! Firstly, i enjoy customer-orientated jobs, but not promotion jobs, especially one-to-one direct selling, when I am the seller! Coz if something is good, customers will eventually come what...

Secondly, this new account for women is not easy leh... $20k initial deposit, $5 monthly fee, features are free insurance coverage and higher interest rates etc (omg i m promoting it here... pardon me).

I should be glad that its not commision based ah... But I am sick of it! Although it can be easy money... lol

And its June already... July got reservist, and immediately after, school reopens, and my turn for PA in Nov/Dec... I really plan and hope to slack my remaining days away... No money? Maybe i'll train for my IPPT gold... $400 leh!
